The subdivision design should avoid either excessively large or short block lengths. The Public Works Director or the Planning Commission may require that a crosswalk, pedestrian way, bicycle path or other separation be established near the center of long blocks; and through other blocks where necessary to provide access to schools, parks, scenic easements, shoreline or other community facilities.
