Unclaimed property not retained by the City for public use shall be sold to the highest bidder at public auction held not less than five (5) days after the notice of such sale being given by the Chief of Police by publication once in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county. If the property is not sold at the auction, it may thereafter be destroyed or otherwise disposed by the City as surplus property under Section 28-50. (Ord. 3431 § 4, 2009)
