a.It shall be unlawful for any person to allow, cause or permit any animal, bird, or reptile besides a dog under his/her charge, care, ownership or control to enter or remain in any park or recreation area.

b.Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, horses, ponies and other members of the equine family are specifically prohibited from all park and recreation areas except for the beach area under control of the City located east of Wharf No. 2. The equine animal must be led or ridden under control at all times.

c.Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, animal shows shall only be allowed in City recreation areas as part of a City of Monterey program. (Ord. 3591 § 3, 2019)
